ZOOKEEPER

Interaction
Student Work

This is a chore tracking app that is kid friendly and interactive. It provides a fun way to learn how to do chores and create life-long skills. The interactive aspect shows children how to do the chore, sets the expectation, and saves time for the parent or "zookeeper."
The Zookeeper app started as a group project with Ariana Martin, Anna Black, Rebecca Bean, and Deise Misiuk. (The group final can be found below in the process section.) I felt there were a lot of things that could have gone better in the design and execution. Afterwards, I went back to the drawing board and created the new and improved Zookeeper app.

The chores and prizes are set up by the parent to make it fully customizable to individual households. The parent can add instructions and an instructional video to each chore so the child understands what is expected. Once the child is older they won't need this function as often, but it creates a foundation.
Once a chore is completed the parent is notified to approve the job. Once it's approved the child is awarded their points and can spend their points on prizes created by the parent.
This is not meant to replace the teaching moments a parent has between their child, it is an aid to help children be motivated and excited to help around the house.
